Camerata Choir is for children in third through fifth grade. They improve their unison singing skills and begin singing in two parts. Beginning music literacy, vocal technique and the development of the voice begin at this level. Tone development and vocal techniques are stressed and sight singing is introduced. The children will also have the opportunity to sing in different languages.
In this choir, children may have a few more performance opportunities. Past choirs have performed in the WVSO’s production of La Boheme, appeared on stage with Casting Crowns and performed with B.E. Taylor.
Children have regular weekly rehearsals.
Advancement into Camerata Choir from the Canzona Choir is determined by the Canzona Choir Director based on vocal evaluation at the end of the season using the following criteria:
- Vocal Ability
- Chorister maturity, age, and grade level
- Music readiness
- Commitment and attendance to the current choir
- The ability to sing a part in harmony when singing with another singer
